Landscape Construction

Landscape Construction and Hardscape

Landscape construction or installation usually occurs after the design is complete or simply put “the implementation of the design”. This may consist of just installing new lawns, shrubs, or trees. Often the plantings are referred to as soft-scape. Design may include hard-scape or stone work. The hardscape may be natural (natural stone such as blue stone, Goshen stone, granite and slate) or man-made materials (concrete pavers, brick and concrete wall blocks). A common part of a landscape project could include grading or reshaping of land, to improve drainage and on occasion installing a sub-surface drainage system. We have the experience, skills and equipment to develop and implement just about any landscape construction project.

Planting (Softscape)

As part of landscape design we can locate and install landscape plantings. We travel to nurseries located throughout Massachusetts and the other New England States and have knowledge as where to find the best material for the best value. Plantings virtually have no limitation on size; we can find and install larger plants that allow for a more immediate impact as to create an instant screen or an instant shade tree.

Transplanting and Planting

Tree Transplanting - Before and AfterRelocating of plants whether you want to move a special shrub or tree to your new home or just want to arrange the existing planting at your own home. We have the ability to trans-plant anything from perennials, shrubs and larger trees. Balling and burlaping works for moving most plants, very often the plant is dug using a back hoe then hand dug to put the final shape on the root ball. At this time any damaged roots are cut with a sharp saw or hand-snips to reduce transplant shock of the relocated shrub or tree. Transplanting is best completed just prior to the growing season or in late part of the growing season. It is best make plans well in advance to ensure a successful relocation.
