Lawn Care

Lawn Care - Worker doing lawn aeration in early spring

Lawn Fertilizing (Organic and Conventional)

We offer both organic and conventional lawn fertilizing programs. We can provide a free evaluation of your lawn and a written proposal to care for your lawn. This includes weed, grub and other insect controls in our conventional lawn care programs. Our lawn care programs also include soil testing to check PH. We can provide fungicide treatments for turf grass in addition to our lawn fertilizer programs. All applications are made by a licensed Massachusetts pesticide applicator in accordance with Massachusetts pesticide regulations.

Our base program consist of the five following applications and lime if needed:
  • Early Spring Lawn Application

Application of pre-emergent weed control and fertilizer to maintain a healthy lawn.

  • Late Spring Lawn Application

Application post emergent weed control and fertilizer to maintain a healthy lawn. We treat broadleaf weeds as needed.

  • Early Summer Lawn Application

Application of fertilizer to maintain a healthy lawn. This application may include an insecticide to help control grubs and other insects.

  • Late Summer/ Early Fall Lawn Application

Application of fertilizer to maintain a healthy lawn. We may apply weed control for broad leaf weeds if needed.

  • Late Fall Lawn Application

Apply fertilizer to help maintain healthy lawn.

  • Lime Applications to Turf

Apply lime to maintain proper PH level of soil to maintain health of lawn. We will soil test to determine if the PH needs adjustment and apply lime as required by the soil test results.

Core aeration and over seeding

A process that can help renovate a lawn and improve the density of grass and introduce new grass to an existing lawn. An aeration machine travels over turf areas and punches holes into the soil to help alleviate soil compaction. Compaction often leads to poor drainage, inhibits normal root development and leads to unhealthy turf. When aeration is combined with the spreading of compost, it helps alleviate soil compaction. Turf density can be improved by applying seed with the aeration, and compost application. The ideal time to seed is late in the Summer from mid-August to mid- September. We recommend scheduling this service in early August to help ensure proper germination and satisfactory results.

Composting

This is a process of apply a thin layer compost over lawn areas to improve soil fertility by increasing organic matter in the soil. This often helps increase the soil’s fertility, water holding capacity, and improve vigor of turf. This with aggressive over-seeding programs can be an option to partially replace conventional lawn care programs. Compost can be applied anytime the grass is actively growing. The first step in the process is to evaluate the lawn and to prepare a proposal.
